Retro is the word here, too, as this podcast is hosted by two friends who love nothing more than speaking about the earlier days of gaming. Keith and Naoise talk about their childhood when they'd spend every waking hour playing their favourite games.
Other topics covered include the best retro games, the best earlier consoles, and more. The duo have been dropping podcasts since the middle of 2022 and now release a new episode every week. On average, the episodes, which you can find on Spotify and Apple, last for approximately 75 minutes.
The Irish Poker Podcast
It's not only video games that fall under the gaming category, as casino games such as slots and poker also qualify. It's the latter under discussion via the popular Irish Poker Tour Podcast, which, as you've probably surmised, follows the Irish Poker Tour.

It's a bit of a stereotype, but I think most of us gamers growing up were labelled as bone idle, whether by our parents or teachers. The guys on The Bone Idle Gaming Podcast somewhat play up to this stereotype, but if you've listened to them, they freely admit their life is purely about gaming.
Established in 2009, this podcast primarily focuses on providing short but informative game reviews. That makes the episodes stand out, as they're quick bursts of information provided in under ten minutes. The hosts waste no time airing their views of everything that is hot, not, or somewhere in between. Recently reviewed games include the excellent God of War Ragnarok and Rainbow Extraction console games.
Gambling With an Edge
If you prefer playing games that could make you some money along the way, then you're going to want podcasts focused on casino games. One of the very best available is the Gambling With an Edge Podcast, a show that's just recently celebrated its fourth birthday.
The premise is simple, the hosts, Bob Dancer and Richard Munchkin strive to turn listeners into better gamblers. Aside from a podcast that allows the two to share their expertise and insights, there is a website and forum where listeners can become a part of one big gambling community.
The main focus of the podcasts is traditional casino games, which include roulette, blackjack, and all the other usual suspects. While game reviews are something the hosts cover, the podcasts usually delve into deeper topics around the gaming industry. They discuss the state of the industry, whether it could be better, and what they'd like to see rather than what they're getting. Now, if you're into first-person shooters or more mainstream titles, be warned that this podcast might not be for you. The Adventuring Party team prefers RPGs and card games over anything else.
