A podcast is like a radio program, with the difference that you can listen whenever and where ever you like. You can listen to a podcast through different platforms via the Internet.
In order to listen to a podcast you need access to a computer or a phone with Internet access. Then you need to find an app or website with a library of podcasts. Irish Podcasts is just one of all services you can use.
Which podcast is the most popular differs from day to day, depending on a lot of things. For an up-to-date list of the most popular podcasts right now, check out our top chart.
There are a lot of apps and websites available where you can listen to podcasts. Some podcasts are even exclusively available on a certain platform. The most used services today are Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Podtail.
Every day new podcasts are launched and some are ending. There are currently over 2 million podcasts available for streaming, from all over the world. To find new, interesting podcasts we recommend using our Trending chart or our top chart.
Basically anyone can launch their own podcast but if you want to really build an audience you need:
Yes, basically! All you really need is a computer or a phone with Internet access. After that you need to record your content and upload it to what is called a "podcast host" which makes your episodes available to the Internet.
To record a podcast you need an app or software that records sound. For phones there are a bunch of apps to record with, and for computers a lot of people use a free piece of software called Audacity.
When you have recorded your podcast and uploaded it to your podcast host it’s time to get the word out there. Maybe you want your podcast to be available on Apple Podcasts or Spotify? Different platforms have different procedures for getting listed in their libraries and the podcast host often makes sure you’r podcast gets out there. Services like Add My Podcast make it possible to submit your feed to many services at once.

Swingers tells the story of Ruth - a woman who joined a Swinging website and ended up having degrading sex with strangers more than 100 times. Ruth thinks she is not alone, that there are women all over the UK like her and so she decided to tell her story, using her full identity, to investigative journalist Catrin Nye. Ruth says that she never wanted to join the swingers website - but did it to please her husband who had been slowly persuading her for more than a decade to try swinging. She ended up having sex with strangers in lay-bys and filming it for her husband. She ended up pregnant by a stranger and giving oral sex to another man while bleeding from an abortion. In this podcast Catrin pieces together Ruth’s story and asks what it tells us about sexual consent, pressure in relationships, and the swinger community. She digs deep into the online world of Fab Swingers - the website Ruth and her husband used. Catrin discovers countless crimes across the UK linked to the swinging website and speaks to a man who admits to having sex with women who he thinks were pushed into it. She considers the police response to Ruth, the law and whether swinging can be a cover for abuse. This is a story told in full honesty. It’s the trickiest investigation of Catrin’s career, but one she also feels must be told.
In 1977, a stranger calls Ruth Finley to blackmail her about a secret from her past. The caller escalates to stalking her on the streets, sending terrifying poems in the mail, and threatening her life. The case sets off a years-long manhunt, one of the most expensive and infamous in Wichita history, to catch the man known as The Poet. A serial killer named BTK, with a knack for bad poetry, already had the city on edge. So when Ruth goes to the police, they start to wonder: are The Poet and BTK the same person? The police try to protect Ruth at all costs. At one point stationing officers in the home she shares with her loving husband. Still, The Poet keeps finding ways to get to her. At the dawn of criminal profiling and serial killers, it’ll take a whole new strategy to finally crack this case. And when they do, it opens up bigger, scarier mysteries about the human psyche. During the pandemic I created a community on Instagram called Grief Ireland. It was following the death of my sister Elaine and her husband Pa. I found Grief to be still a taboo subject, unspoken, and a topic that not many wanted to discuss. Unless of course those who were in "the club no-one wants to be in". But to find those people was difficult. So I went on a mission to open the conversation, to comfort those who mourn, to educate those who don't, to hold space for others to talk about their Grief, Love and Loss and to remember our loved ones and ensure that they would never be forgotten.

Would you like to reduce your alcohol consumption by about 80 percent? Become the version of you who can just "take it or leave it" so that you can enjoy drinking socially without relying on alcohol to manage your stress, anxiety, loneliness and boredom when you're by yourself? Most high achieving women assume over-drinking is caused by a lack of willpower--or worse, the incurable disease of "alcoholism." So they beat themselves up and avoid asking for help because they feel ashamed and out of control. Whether you're a daily drinker who can't break the habit, or you're still going to sobriety meetings even though you don't drink anymore, the real problem is that you don't trust yourself. Which means it's not about the alcohol. It's about your relationship with yourself. Colleen Freeland is a a mindful drinking coach helping professional women learn how drinking less (or not at all) is actually a superpower, even when the idea of giving up the only thing that helps them quiet their mind feels impossible. Welcome to Ready for Love, the podcast for women who are ready to stop orbiting everyone else’s needs, expectations, and opinions and become the center of their own lives. I created this show to to have counter-culture conversations on love, power and modern womanhood. Each episode turns your attention inward, toward the beliefs, patterns, choices, and self-betrayals shaping the life you have now, because when you change, everything in your life changes, too. And you can finally start creating the life you actually want. Being ready for love reaches far beyond finding a romantic partner. It means becoming grounded enough to trust yourself, honest enough to face your own bullshit, and self-led enough to decide what belongs in your life. That includes the people you love, the work you pursue, the standards you hold, the pleasure you allow, and the future you are willing to create. I spent 15 years as a clinical psychotherapist before becoming the paradigm-shifting, script-flipping life disrupter you hear today. I’m part woo, part neuroscience, and entirely uninterested in recycled advice about fixing yourself, becoming more palatable, or performing your way into someone else’s approval. On Ready for Love, we challenge the ideas women have been handed about relationships, ambition, confidence, aging, anxiety, power, pleasure, success, and what it means to be a “good” woman. Some of those ideas may already feel uncomfortable. Good. Discomfort is often what happens when an old belief realizes it is about to lose its job. This is your invitation to become self, centered: more self-trusting, self-aware, self-assured, and fully in possession of your own life. You are not here to shrink, settle, or spend another decade proving how much you can tolerate. You are here to become the woman who gets what she wants without abandoning herself along the way. New episodes drop every Friday on all podcast platforms and YouTube. Follow the show and leave a five-star review. Unless you hated it, in which case your mother was right: some thoughts are best kept to yourself.

Hi! Welcome to Storytime with Seth Rogen, where every week Seth asks somebody, “Do you have a great story? And if you do, will you tell it on my podcast?” That’s it. That’s the concept. But the results are so much more than that. This is not a typical comedian-hosted chat show! Each episode plays like a little audio documentary, a feature presentation unto itself, with supporting interviews and archival tape woven into each story with a rhythmic editing style. Not all the stories are knee-slap funny, and not all the guests are known. From a near-death grizzly bear fight in remote Canada, to a life-altering celebrity encounter in a movie theatre, to the revelation of a family secret, Storytime starts with Seth’s curiosity about people and the world, and always ends up in an unexpected place.

Hosted and reported by award-winning investigative climate journalists and led by Amy Westervelt, each season unravels new evidence of deception, disinformation, and the power structures keeping real climate solutions out of reach. In September 2025, a group of Brazilian ministers trekked all the way to chilly North Dakota to see a presentation on a new type of clean energy project, one that promised to help them deliver Brazilian President Lula’s dream of turning Brazil into “the Saudi Arabia of sustainable aviation fuels.” It was the latest in a string of projects from Midwest Republican kingmaker and corn ethanol magnate Bruce Rastetter, whose investments in Brazil might just transform him into a global carbon czar, even as his Summit pipeline carbon project faces fierce opposition from Iowa to North Dakota. The problem? It all requires loads of land and none of it does a thing about climate change.

Twice monthly, psychologist and therapist Jared DeFife, Ph.D. presents insightful interviews and stories about psychology, culture, and relationships from amazing experts with great stories to tell and meaningful wisdom to share. The School of Psych podcast is less about giving "5 simple tips for a great marriage" and more about people sharing deep and heartfelt stories like "what I learned about the psychology of fear from dangling off the ledge of 1,000 ft tall building" or "how I went from a reluctant bride to counseling couples as New York's 'Wedding Doctor'", and "how my journey to learn about unrequited love and romantic obsession began after becoming obsessed with someone who didn't love me back". Along the way, we'll learn about love, life, loss, fear, anger, joy, creativity, and happiness. Authors, sociologists, psychologists, journalists, therapists, artists, and more will be asked to dig deep into their own personal passions, triumphs, heartbreaks, failures, and eureka moments to help us learn more about who we are, what we think, and how we relate. Deborah Frances-White quizzes former speaker John Bercow about how British democracy really works. The instruments of power in the UK are often arcane, confusing and bizarre – but understanding how they operate is key to wielding them effectively – and as citizens, we need to be aware of what those in power can and can’t do. With a governing party which is using those instruments more ruthlessly than any government in recent memory, it’s more important than ever to appreciate how we got here and what we can do about it.Former Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow is an ideal guide through this dense thicket of tradition, legislation, convention and constitution. But rather than giving a lecture, we will present this guide in the form of a conversation between him and Deborah Frances-White.Familiar from her hit podcast The Guilty Feminist as well as her award-winning BBC Radio 4 show Rolls the Dice and countless other TV and radio appearances, Deborah has a keen interest in human rights and how governments use and abuse their power. But, raised in Australia, and not having spent a career in parliament she – like most people – doesn’t know in detail how a lot of these aspects of government actually work. By asking the questions likely to be in the mind of the audience, she can engage the listeners as they go with her and John on their journey through the corridors of power. Hosted on Acast. On 16th August 1819 around 60,000 people gathered at St. Peter’s Fields, Manchester, to rally for parliamentary reform. Shortly after the meeting began, a troop of Hussars and local yeomanry rode into the crowd, wielding clubs, swords and sabres, leaving 18 dead and more than 700 severely injured. In the following years, the Peterloo Massacre was the subject of several trials and inquiries. It now counts as one of the most significant events in the history of the British labour movement. Francis Archibald Bruton’s account of the day’s events, published for its centenary and based on a detailed examination of contemporary accounts, is both dispassionate and moving.(Introduction by Phil Benson)
