It's just like the script from a soap opera
Former COO of MooCall John Larkin is winding down another business, finds a notebook where he has jotted down 'brilliant business ideas', sees that he had previously looked at the personal soap business and instead of talking and researching it further, he just went and did it. It being, he set up The Black Stuff,, as his soap is laced with...the other black stuff.
From humble beginnings in his South Dublin kitchen table, where learnt how to swill soap from YouTube videos, he now has 5 full time employees and has moved into new industrial premises. He sells mostly online and how he got his big US breakthrough will make you smile, as, in business, opportunities come from the most unlikely sources.
John was introduced to That Great Business Show by the good guys at Parcel Planet that we had on the show recently as he is using their Birmingham hub to ship to the UK (avoiding all the hassles of Brexit) and next he's heading for their new Parcel Planet hub in the Netherlands, serving the huge French and German markets.
