Women in Music with Millie Cotton

Women in Music is a podcast sharing the tales and careers of modern singular voices in music – they all just happen to be female.

Hosted by DJ Millie Cotton, WiM is an inclusive platform to elevate female voices by sharing the stories of acknowledged women. The podcast explores what it is they really do, how they got there and the day to day of getting it done. From artists to tour managers to sound engineers to merch managers, each episode is a frank conversation with great music makers and enablers about the industry.

After years of attending club nights run and played by men, Millie came across a DJ, who was a woman, and quickly realised her passion was a career possibility too. A few years on and Millie has DJ'ed for international brands like Youtube, Google, Conde Nast and Nike; warm up sets for Kelis, Post Malone and Pet Shop Boys and notorious London venues such as Village Underground, Concrete and Queen of Hoxton.

Had Millie realised that this career was an option, it's likely she would have embarked on that journey from a much younger age and it was out of this frustration that Women In Music was born.

Having also previously had conversations with eminent artists Charli XCX, Jorja Smith and many others for magazines like Nylon, Wonderland and Rollacoaster, Women in Music is where Millie invites guests to share their career paths and experiences.
